Perfect improvement over the original unit

The replacement light is much better quality than the light that came with the aquarium. It came very quickly and was a perfect fit. Thanks so much.

LOVE the design. Much sleeker and in keeping with the Edge's style than the crusty old halogen originals (which are really a bad joke more than anything). I am in agreement with previous posters who mentioned that it would be nice to have received screws with this purchase since they're needed to attach it to the support.
Light bar is sealed to keep water off the LEDs and the day/night feature is fun. I do wish this had more (or brighter) LEDs. I haven't tried to grow any plants with this light, but I'm not hopeful that it'll support anything more light-hungry than the Javas and Anubiases. Barely lights up the whole tank if you use a dark substrate.

A much better quality than the original. My fish are stoked - after a year of shoddy, blinking, intermittant light from the other rusty parts. Don't delay - get these instead.

My original fluval LED lights slowly burned out over the period of 1 year, I decided to replace it with this one. Let me tell you, I forgot how bright this things get, when I replaced it, it was like night and day difference! It illuminates ever little corner of my 6 gallon fluval edge very well! The only reason I dropped a star is because this replacement doesn't include the screws to attach it to the main board, so if you order this replacement, make sure to keep the original screws.

My original lamp also rusted out from the salt water. The original halogen lights burned really hot and I wasn't thrilled with them so I started replacing them with the individual LED lamps when I discovered them. They cost about $22 for a set of two; the light was better but one of them kept burning out within a week of replacement due to the rust building up on the sockets. Then I found this unit. The bulbs are completely sealed and I think it lights the thank just fine and was pleased with the (blue) moonlight setting that I didn't realize it had. It makes my mini-clowns pop at night along with some of the tank decor. The only downside is those 4 screws, they were in the old unit so tight it took 2 hours to get them out. Other than that, I'm happy with the new lamp.

I have had two six gallon Edge aquariums for about 3 years and while I do like their shape, there was a design flaw - the lights. Both rusted and the bulbs fell out into the water and after awhile the sockets rusted to the point, the bulbs would not work. I purchased the replacement system which uses LED lights. While they are nicely sealed, they do not give off a lot of light (a dark blue). It is hard to see in the aquarium in the evening. But they are better than nothing
